Class Descriptions
Kingdom Tech
This class is geared toward getting the body warm and working to tone and sculpt muscles necessary for dancing.
Skills Across The Floor
This is where dancers will concentrate on progressions in turns, leaps, jumps, floor work and other traveling movements.
Worship / Dance From The Heart
This is a class dedicated to learning improvisational skills and teaching dancers how to develop their unique style as a way to glorify God through their gift. Liturgical and worship dance techniques will be incorporated. All dancers are combined for this half hour class.
Ballet
In this class, dancers will learn and develop foundational techniques in ballet.
Turns & Leaps
This section focuses on the technical aspects of executing turns and leaps by breaking down the movements into fundamental components, emphasizing proper technique, alignment, and body placement to improve skills.
Kingdom Choreography
In this class, dancers will be taught various techniques and choreography in styles such as Jazz, Lyrical, and Contemporary. Guest teachers will occasionally be brought in during this class to teach other styles as well. *For Kingdom Kids and Kingdom Crew the equivalent of this class is listed as Jazz/Lyrical.
Stretch & Reflect
Dancers will focus on lengthening muscles and gaining flexibility while learning to be intentional in connecting breath to movement. Reflection on scripture will be incorporated as well for integration with KDC’s core values.
Company Rehearsals
These classes are by audition only and dedicated to KDC Company members to work on choreography for performances and competitions.
Acro
This class focuses on total body control and teaches techniques in balance, agility, and motor coordination.
*PLEASE NOTE: Because of the nature of this class and the inherent risks involved, a clear level of maturity and understanding class expectations are required for the safety of both the dancer and instructor.
Kingdom Production Rehearsal
These rehearsals are dedicated to working on choreography for the KDC’s current season of The Production. Once the date of The Production is announced, an open audition for dancers will be held to cast roles and parts. Classes will be held on Saturdays for a 2-3 month period of time and conclude with a live ticketed performance.
